Role Overview

Delphos is seeking a highly skilled Finance Lawyer to provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of financing and transactional matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex financing agreements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting business operations through strategic legal guidance. Experience in leveraged finance, high yield, lending, or capital markets is essential.

This role is based in Milan, Italy. We welcome applications from candidates already located in Milan or those willing to relocate. An attractive compensation package is offered.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad spectrum of financing agreements, including leveraged finance, high yield, lending, and capital markets documentation.
  • Support due diligence processes in financing transactions and advise on legal risks.
  • Assist in structuring, negotiating, and closing financing transactions.
  • Liaise with external counsel and regulatory authorities as needed.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues.
  • Stay informed about changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting financing and transactional practice areas, and advise accordingly.
  • Handle other legal matters and projects as assigned by senior management.
  • Collaborate with outside counsel as and when required.

Requirements

  • As a guide, 3–5 years of experience in finance law, though if you believe you are a strong fit for this role, we encourage you to apply regardless. 
  • Demonstrable experience in leveraged finance, high yield, lending, or capital markets. 
  • Cross-border transactional experience. 
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. 
  • Full business proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training and or experience at a US or UK law firm or bank.
  • Experience with asset-backed finance, securitisation, secured lending, and/or financial guarantees is appreciated.
  • Emerging markets experience. 
  • Common law qualification.
